Field Trip!

I was able to go on Hunter's field trip to the Imagination Place in Gadsden, AL. The kids had a great time interacting with robots and hearing a Dr. Seuss story. They were even able to make a mask to go along with the story.

That is good that you got to go! Is that place like a mini McWayne center?

It was totally worth taking the day off. Its like a McWane Center with only two or three exhibits. I didn't take a picture of the coolest part though. They have a minature "Broad Street" in one portion of it. Each "store" was sponsored by a real local business. The grocery story was a Piggly Wiggly, with real boxes of food, a cash register and everything kid-sized. They had a bank, a dress up shop, a fire department complete with pole, a doctor/dentist office, and a construction site among others. The kids loved it!

Cookie Exchange

The first Saturday of December, I hosted my first Cookie Exchange. I had been wanting to do this for years, but things were always too busy. I decided to go ahead and do it anyway this year and it was fun! Lots of ladies attended and the cookies were great! Maybe I will do it again...

Easter 2009

The Easter Bunny was good to the boys this year...even though we dyed the eggs at 8PM the night before. All the "egg hunts" were with plastic eggs this year, which the kids prefer, due to the candy/prizes inside. We went to our new church on Easter morning and the kids made it through the "grown-up" service, so it has been a great day so far. Now, on to lunch at Grandma Jackie's house for Easter dinner!

Carter for President

So, Saturday afternoon Carter decided he was running for President. This idea came from the book he recently purchased at the school book fair "Spongebob for President". He decided to make flyers saying "Carter for Prezident" and put them all around the house. I went upstairs to fold the laundry and came back downstairs to find his flyer creation station empty. I went outside and saw flyers all around the porch, but no sign of Carter. I called his name inside the house, I called his name outside the house and then I caught a glimpse of him halfway down the driveway. I thought he was heading down the driveway, but he was actually coming back up. I said "What on earth are you doing?" and he said I went to Mr. James' house to ask him to vote for me and he gave me a check. I almost passed out! I thought he had conned our neighbor into giving him a campaing donation. After he made it back to the top of the hill he showed me his notebook where he had writte...
