New Job for Kay

Late this spring I decided it might be time to look for a new job. When we first moved I had hoped to get a training development position at the Volkswagen Academy, much like I had at AIDT for Honda. Well, VW has a very different take on e-learning than Honda does, so no positions were opened while I was searching for a job.

Fast-forward 3 years and it just so happened that a position opened at the VW Academy the very day I decided to look. On July 7th I began working at Chattanooga State Community College located at the VW Academy, administering Volkswagen's tuition reimbursement program as well as assisting the Learning Management System Administrator with tracking/reporting on employee training.

Two months later and I'm loving it!

Cookie Exchange

The first Saturday of December, I hosted my first Cookie Exchange. I had been wanting to do this for years, but things were always too busy. I decided to go ahead and do it anyway this year and it was fun! Lots of ladies attended and the cookies were great! Maybe I will do it again...

Easter 2009

The Easter Bunny was good to the boys this year...even though we dyed the eggs at 8PM the night before. We went to our new church on Easter morning and the kids made it through the "grown-up" service, so it has been a great day so far. Now, on to lunch at Grandma Jackie's house for Easter dinner!

He decided to make flyers saying "Carter for Prezident" and put them all around the house. I went upstairs to fold the laundry and came back downstairs to find his flyer creation station empty. I went outside and saw flyers all around the porch, but no sign of Carter. I called his name inside the house, I called his name outside the house and then I caught a glimpse of him halfway down the driveway. I thought he was heading down the driveway, but he was actually coming back up. I said "What on earth are you doing?" and he said I went to Mr. James' house to ask him to vote for me and he gave me a check. I almost passed out! I thought he had conned our neighbor into giving him a campaing donation. After he made it back to the top of the hill he showed me his notebook where he had writte...
