Woodstock/Kidstock 2008

Well, it started innocently enough. Jasons' sister Kellie and family came out last year and his brother-in-law David ran the 2007 Woodstock 5K. David challenged Jason that if they came out again this year, Jason would have to run with him. An easy thing to promise when you have a year to train. Well, Jason got some new shoes and ran a mile the week before the race. However, a 5K equals 3.1 miles. Jason actually did great, only walking a couple of times to catch his breath.

While discussing the race, Carter and Hunter got excited about it. They wanted to train and race too. So we signed them up for the Kidstock 1 mile walk/run. They "trained" up and down the driveway for weeks. Uncle David ran with them on race day. Unfortunately, Hunter got tripped right out of the start line (or knocked down on purpose according to him) and didn't race. Carter, on the other hand, did a great job, running his first mile in 9:41. He intends on running every year.

Cookie Exchange

The first Saturday of December, I hosted my first Cookie Exchange. I had been wanting to do this for years, but things were always too busy. I decided to go ahead and do it anyway this year and it was fun! Lots of ladies attended and the cookies were great! Maybe I will do it again...

Easter 2009

The Easter Bunny was good to the boys this year...even though we dyed the eggs at 8PM the night before. All the "egg hunts" were with plastic eggs this year, which the kids prefer, due to the candy/prizes inside. We went to our new church on Easter morning and the kids made it through the "grown-up" service, so it has been a great day so far. Now, on to lunch at Grandma Jackie's house for Easter dinner!

Our new home!

Ok, I know I will have to go back and detail the chaos that has ensued over the past few months, but this is a biggie. We closed on our new house in Ooltewah, Tennessee earlier today and we are so excited. It will still be 26 days before the boys and I join Jason in TN, but we are making progress!
