Calm Down, Mommy!

Graham has had a terrible time since Christmas with colds and ear infections. One Saturday he had a fever which I had been treating with Tylenol. Around 6:30PM, I gave him his bedtime dose. At 7:30, when I was taking him to bed, I realized his fever had not gone down at all. I took his temp and it was 104.7.

I totally freaked out, because I thought the medicine should have already worked - so what would it have been had I not given him the Tylenol??? Jason was working overtime, so I yelled to Carter and Hunter to get their shoes on and get in the car. I grabbed Grahams stuff, while frequently yelling to the boys to hurry up. The boys couldn't understand the urgency, so I unfortunatley stated something about thier baby brother's brain frying (awful, I know). Carter was ready to go, but watching me scurry about. He calmly stepped in front of me and said "Don't worry Mom, Graham is acting normally. I don't think its really that bad."

Ha! Reality check. I don't need anxiety medicine...I have Carter.

Cookie Exchange

The first Saturday of December, I hosted my first Cookie Exchange. I had been wanting to do this for years, but things were always too busy. I decided to go ahead and do it anyway this year and it was fun! Lots of ladies attended and the cookies were great! Maybe I will do it again...

Easter 2009

The Easter Bunny was good to the boys this year...even though we dyed the eggs at 8PM the night before. All the "egg hunts" were with plastic eggs this year, which the kids prefer, due to the candy/prizes inside. We went to our new church on Easter morning and the kids made it through the "grown-up" service, so it has been a great day so far. Now, on to lunch at Grandma Jackie's house for Easter dinner!

Our special visitor....

Do I have a story to tell you! Last night Hunter ask if he could go out to the van and look for his Nintendo DS. I let him go and then made sure he locked the door as he came in. This morning, as I stepped outside to take some things to the car before we left for school/work, I noticed the sliding door on the van was wide open. I started griping to the boys "Good grief, now the battery is going to be dead....AAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!" They came running out the door to find an "American Bulldog" curled up in Carter's seat. After I got my wits about me, I sent them back in and tried to talk the dog out of the car. Then I tried to entice him out with a hot dog. He just stared at me. Then I got a stick, opened up all the doors and yelled at him to try to scare him out. He just ran behind the seat and hid in the back. When I got really agressive he started quivering his lip like he was going to growl at me. He was scared of me and I of him. All the while, I was documenting th...
