30 Days of Thankfulness

I'm a little late getting started on this one, but I saw several people doing this on Facebook, and thought it was a wonderful idea for November. I'm not going to start a new post every day, but will try to log in and update this post daily.

Day 1 - Our Health - Sure we all have minor issues, but Jason and I, and all three kiddos are SUPER blessed in the health department. For this I am very thankful.

Day 2 - Our Salvation - Psalm 100:4 - Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.

Day 3 - My job - I'm so thankful to have had a flexible job for the past 4 years that allows me to put my family first, while I contribute financially to help meet our financial obligations. Sometimes, I even enjoy it! ;-)

Day 4 - My boys - All four of them. They are seriously the cause of my gray hair (age has NOTHING to do with it), but I love them to pieces.

Day 5 - Road Trips - These have been few and far between, but on Friday we all piled in the car to go to Kentucky with daddy. It was mostly chaos, but we got a new portable DVD player and saw the Biggest Park in the WORLD! The kids talk about trips like these forever. A break from the every day is much appreciated.

Day 6 - HOME - After said road trips, and every day. I am so thankful for our home. Its usually a mess, but its home.

Day 7 - Friends - I am blessed with some really great friends. I have a few long time friends that have been with me through thick and thin, but have gained many new friends through work and church that constantly make me laugh and keep me going.

Days 8 - 18 - The unexpected - Life would be so boring if everything went as planned. Sometimes this drives me crazy because I'm a planner at heart. I've learned that I enjoy the planning process, even if things don't go the way I've planned. So, I keep on planning, and life keeps on changing my plans. For example - I was going to update this post daily, but somehow managed to miss 10 days in a row!

Cookie Exchange

The first Saturday of December, I hosted my first Cookie Exchange. I had been wanting to do this for years, but things were always too busy. I decided to go ahead and do it anyway this year and it was fun! Lots of ladies attended and the cookies were great! Maybe I will do it again...

Easter 2009

The Easter Bunny was good to the boys this year...even though we dyed the eggs at 8PM the night before. All the "egg hunts" were with plastic eggs this year, which the kids prefer, due to the candy/prizes inside. We went to our new church on Easter morning and the kids made it through the "grown-up" service, so it has been a great day so far. Now, on to lunch at Grandma Jackie's house for Easter dinner!

Our special visitor....

Do I have a story to tell you! Last night Hunter ask if he could go out to the van and look for his Nintendo DS. I let him go and then made sure he locked the door as he came in. This morning, as I stepped outside to take some things to the car before we left for school/work, I noticed the sliding door on the van was wide open. I started griping to the boys "Good grief, now the battery is going to be dead....AAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!" They came running out the door to find an "American Bulldog" curled up in Carter's seat. After I got my wits about me, I sent them back in and tried to talk the dog out of the car. Then I tried to entice him out with a hot dog. He just stared at me. Then I got a stick, opened up all the doors and yelled at him to try to scare him out. He just ran behind the seat and hid in the back. When I got really agressive he started quivering his lip like he was going to growl at me. He was scared of me and I of him. All the while, I was documenting th...
