More Decisions

Well, when I posted back in July that Jason had decided to leave Honda after 9 years and go to a supplier, I certainly never imagined that I would be posting 5 months later that he was changing jobs again! (Well, actually I am posting this 10 months later, but we left the blog alone for a while. We decided not to notify the entire world that the boys and I were staying alone during the week, so we kept the news off our blog and facebook pages.)

Anyway, a week after Jason left Honda and the Friday before he started his new job, Volkswagen called. Now, we had been waiting for that call ALL SUMMER! You see, for my 33rd birthday, Jason and I took a trip to Lookout Mountain and fell in love with Chattanooga. We've always loved Tennessee, and we knew there were many things to do in the area, but when we realized you could be at Rock City one minute, and downtown 10 minutes later, we were sold.

While we were still on my birthday trip we remembered that Chattanooga was the town who had won the Volkswagen plant out from under Huntsville and a few other places, and we looked up the career listings. Lo and behold, Jason's exact position with Honda was listed. A week or so later, he applied. Then we waited, and looked at houses, and waited, and checked into schools, and waited, and looked for jobs for me, and waited. Finally we had about decided they weren't going to call. Then the opportunity at a supplier came open. Jason decided to take it. Then, of course, they call. Jason was initally going to tell them no. That he wouldn't even interview. Then he went to his first day at his new job. Lets just say, he knew enough on Day 1 to know he should at least TALK to Volkswagen.

Months went by and MANY interviews later they FINALLY offered Jason a job around Thanksgiving. He signed on the line and the rest is history. He is now a Process Audit Technical Specialist for Volkswagen Group in Chattanooga, TN.

Cookie Exchange

The first Saturday of December, I hosted my first Cookie Exchange. I had been wanting to do this for years, but things were always too busy. I decided to go ahead and do it anyway this year and it was fun! Lots of ladies attended and the cookies were great! Maybe I will do it again...

Easter 2009

The Easter Bunny was good to the boys this year...even though we dyed the eggs at 8PM the night before. All the "egg hunts" were with plastic eggs this year, which the kids prefer, due to the candy/prizes inside. We went to our new church on Easter morning and the kids made it through the "grown-up" service, so it has been a great day so far. Now, on to lunch at Grandma Jackie's house for Easter dinner!

Our special visitor....

Do I have a story to tell you! Last night Hunter ask if he could go out to the van and look for his Nintendo DS. I let him go and then made sure he locked the door as he came in. This morning, as I stepped outside to take some things to the car before we left for school/work, I noticed the sliding door on the van was wide open. I started griping to the boys "Good grief, now the battery is going to be dead....AAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!" They came running out the door to find an "American Bulldog" curled up in Carter's seat. After I got my wits about me, I sent them back in and tried to talk the dog out of the car. Then I tried to entice him out with a hot dog. He just stared at me. Then I got a stick, opened up all the doors and yelled at him to try to scare him out. He just ran behind the seat and hid in the back. When I got really agressive he started quivering his lip like he was going to growl at me. He was scared of me and I of him. All the while, I was documenting th...
