He did it! He "taked" a haircut!

So, about 6 months ago, Grahams hair was finally long enough for us to trim it into the shape that we wanted. Hunter had a friend with floppy hair that I loved and Jason's hair was in a bowl-type cut when he was two, so thats what we were going for. Well, in all that growing-out time, Graham McKinney decided that he doesn't take haircuts. Before we moved Jason was able to take him one last time to get it out of his eyes, but Graham wasn't about to get a haircut with me there. We all went to Great Clips in May and all the boys got their haircut, and I thought he may go along. No, he pitched a complete fit and tried to kick the lady, so we just left. It was a complete battle for me to even trim his hair out of his eyes, and I swear, if I did that one more time without cutting the back, he was going to have a FULL-ON Mullet.

So two weeks ago, we decided to go for it. I bought Jason some new hair clippers and like all wonderful parents, we bribed him with chocolate cake. Whatever gets the job done, right?

Bless his heart, when he saw himself after it was finished, he said "I a boy now?". I'm assuming based on other conversations after the haircut that he meant a BIG BOY....but for a second I thought he may have been thinking he was a girl!

Cookie Exchange

The first Saturday of December, I hosted my first Cookie Exchange. I had been wanting to do this for years, but things were always too busy. I decided to go ahead and do it anyway this year and it was fun! Lots of ladies attended and the cookies were great! Maybe I will do it again...

Easter 2009

The Easter Bunny was good to the boys this year...even though we dyed the eggs at 8PM the night before. All the "egg hunts" were with plastic eggs this year, which the kids prefer, due to the candy/prizes inside. We went to our new church on Easter morning and the kids made it through the "grown-up" service, so it has been a great day so far. Now, on to lunch at Grandma Jackie's house for Easter dinner!

Our special visitor....

Do I have a story to tell you! Last night Hunter ask if he could go out to the van and look for his Nintendo DS. I let him go and then made sure he locked the door as he came in. This morning, as I stepped outside to take some things to the car before we left for school/work, I noticed the sliding door on the van was wide open. I started griping to the boys "Good grief, now the battery is going to be dead....AAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!" They came running out the door to find an "American Bulldog" curled up in Carter's seat. After I got my wits about me, I sent them back in and tried to talk the dog out of the car. Then I tried to entice him out with a hot dog. He just stared at me. Then I got a stick, opened up all the doors and yelled at him to try to scare him out. He just ran behind the seat and hid in the back. When I got really agressive he started quivering his lip like he was going to growl at me. He was scared of me and I of him. All the while, I was documenting th...
