30-A...Tuesday

We started off Tuesday with a swim in one of the pools. Sanctuary at Redfish has four pools and is not crowded at all. Everyone at the pools had an entire pool to themselves!

After lunch in the condo we headed to Grayton Beach State Park. We took a hike on a one mile trail through the coastal dunes and around a costal lake (brackish water). You would have thought we forced them to traverse Death Valley, but we all survived! The boys were hoping to see an alligator, but no such luck today.

After we cooled off at the hotel, we headed shopping get bike helmets and buy bait for surf fishing. We headed out at sunset and the boys chased fish, crabs and a big crane while Jason fished in the surf and Big Redfish Lake. It was a great day! The boys fell fast asleep in minutes and Jason and I had a few minutes to enjoy the stars, waves crashing and lightning in the distance in peace. :-)

Cookie Exchange

The first Saturday of December, I hosted my first Cookie Exchange. I had been wanting to do this for years, but things were always too busy. I decided to go ahead and do it anyway this year and it was fun! Lots of ladies attended and the cookies were great! Maybe I will do it again...

STAR Reading

I hesitated to post this, but it's just so amazing to me! Hunter received what is possibly his last reading assessment in elementary school (5th grade). His scores are incredible, but what makes this so unbelievable to me - is where we were 4 years ago.  In first grade, this child struggled with sight words EVERY NIGHT. Seriously, there were tears 4-5 nights per week. Hour long tear filled, flash card sessions...daily. When I look at where Graham is now in 1st grade...reading/sounding out almost every word in front of him with ease...I truly realize how far Hunter has come! So what these results say (to the best of my understanding) is that Hunter is in the 5th grade, 4th month of school (GP 5.44) and tests at a grade equivalent of 12.9+ (compared to other students nationally). He's in the 98/99th percentile and can comprehend up to 80% of 11.4th grade material. So proud of his progress and so grateful for his 1st grade teacher, Ms. Shavon Diggs, who encouraged me to keep going...

Hunter is Five!!!!!

Hunter turned the big 05 on Saturday, September 26th. He had a Mario Bros themed party. It turned out pretty well. He had a good turn-out at his party, even though it came a flood about the time everyone had to get in their cars. Thanks to all who braved the weather! The kids had a great time and no one got konked in the head while they were trying to break the pinata! :-) Hunter's Cake - I didn't even cry while decorating it! Daddy and Graham watching the Pinata action! Temporary Tattoos Isaac hitting the Chomp Chomp Pinata Hunters BIG present - A playground that is still sitting in boxes!
