She makes my eyes turn into hearts!

Hunter (3) informed me this week that Shia is his girlfriend. (Shia is his former nanny's grandaughter. They have grown up together since they were two months old.) He hasn't seen Shia in months, so I wondered why this was on his mind. I ask him how he knew that she was his girlfriend. He said, "When she gives me a hug, she makes my eyes turn into hearts!"

For a moment I thought I had a future poet on my hands. I ask him if he had heard someone say that before and Carter answered me first. He informed me that on the cartoon Spongebob Squarepants Mr. Krabs eyes turn into hearts when he meets Ms. Puff for the first time.

OF COURSE!


Mrs. Puff: You're a very sweet man, Mr. Krabs.
[She kisses Mr. Krabs on the cheek, and his eyes curve into a heart shape.]

The Easter Bunny was good to the boys this year...even though we dyed the eggs at 8PM the night before. All the "egg hunts" were with plastic eggs this year, which the kids prefer, due to the candy/prizes inside. Carter for President

So, Saturday afternoon Carter decided he was running for President. This idea came from the book he recently purchased at the school book fair "Spongebob for President". He decided to make flyers saying "Carter for Prezident" and put them all around the house. I went upstairs to fold the laundry and came back downstairs to find his flyer creation station empty. I went outside and saw flyers all around the porch, but no sign of Carter. I called his name inside the house, I called his name outside the house and then I caught a glimpse of him halfway down the driveway. I thought he was heading down the driveway, but he was actually coming back up. I said "What on earth are you doing?" and he said I went to Mr. James' house to ask him to vote for me and he gave me a check. I almost passed out! Our special visitor....

Do I have a story to tell you! Last night Hunter ask if he could go out to the van and look for his Nintendo DS. I let him go and then made sure he locked the door as he came in. This morning, as I stepped outside to take some things to the car before we left for school/work, I noticed the sliding door on the van was wide open. I started griping to the boys "Good grief, now the battery is going to be dead....AAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!" They came running out the door to find an "American Bulldog" curled up in Carter's seat. After I got my wits about me, I sent them back in and tried to talk the dog out of the car. Then I tried to entice him out with a hot dog. He just stared at me. Then I got a stick, opened up all the doors and yelled at him to try to scare him out. He just ran behind the seat and hid in the back.
