Unfortunately, I didn't have a camera...

This morning I was sitting in the living room chatting with Grandma Jackie on the phone. Graham was going back and forth between the living room and the kitchen, occasionaly bringing me another piece of tupperware or box of Shake and Bake, etc. I thought I heard the sound of him climbing up in the chair (his latest feat is climbing up onto the kitchen table.

Well....I walked into the kitchen to find him sitting on top of my stove! When I was sweeping earlier, I had pushed a chair up next to our desk in the kitchen (which is lower than counter height). He climbed up onto the chair, then the desk, then up a bit more onto the counter and sat right smack on the top of the stove.

The reason, you ask?

Well, I had made cinnamon rolls for breakfast and he and I had both had eaten two. There were four left and they were SUPPOSED to be for Carter and Hunter. By the time I came in the kitchen, Graham's face looked like he had just dove into his 1st birthday cake. He had eaten the tops off (due to the icing) of all four!

He bounced off the walls for several hours. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get the camera before I washed all the sticky off.

Cookie Exchange

The first Saturday of December, I hosted my first Cookie Exchange. I had been wanting to do this for years, but things were always too busy. I decided to go ahead and do it anyway this year and it was fun! Lots of ladies attended and the cookies were great! Maybe I will do it again...

STAR Reading

I hesitated to post this, but it's just so amazing to me! Hunter received what is possibly his last reading assessment in elementary school (5th grade). His scores are incredible, but what makes this so unbelievable to me - is where we were 4 years ago.  In first grade, this child struggled with sight words EVERY NIGHT. Seriously, there were tears 4-5 nights per week. Hour long tear filled, flash card sessions...daily. When I look at where Graham is now in 1st grade...reading/sounding out almost every word in front of him with ease...I truly realize how far Hunter has come! So what these results say (to the best of my understanding) is that Hunter is in the 5th grade, 4th month of school (GP 5.44) and tests at a grade equivalent of 12.9+ (compared to other students nationally). He's in the 98/99th percentile and can comprehend up to 80% of 11.4th grade material. So proud of his progress and so grateful for his 1st grade teacher, Ms. Shavon Diggs, who encouraged me to keep going...

Hunter is Five!!!!!

Hunter turned the big 05 on Saturday, September 26th. He had a Mario Bros themed party. It turned out pretty well. He had a good turn-out at his party, even though it came a flood about the time everyone had to get in their cars. Thanks to all who braved the weather! The kids had a great time and no one got konked in the head while they were trying to break the pinata! :-) Hunter's Cake - I didn't even cry while decorating it! Daddy and Graham watching the Pinata action! Temporary Tattoos Isaac hitting the Chomp Chomp Pinata Hunters BIG present - A playground that is still sitting in boxes!
